First Bottled Water Manufacturer

Adolph Harsch, who had opened the first bakery in New Town, bored a well at Coyote Springs in the nearby mountains and began bottling the mineral-laden water for sale in Albuquerque. The prosperous business was called Harsch's Coyote Bottling Works. The water had a strong taste, but was a favorite as a whisky chaser in Albuquerque's saloons.
